The Most Popular CS:GO Skins

After the summer break, CS2 is now available in open beta (refer to CS Open Beta? Update Adds New MM System and Inferno) and the skin prices that skyrocketed following the CS2 announcement have now partly subsided. We think that all of that is a great reason to check out the most well-liked CS:GO skins once more.

As you may already be aware, some skins have been somewhat downgraded in CS2, while others have seen significant improvements. Now that so many players have access to CS2, does this affect how individuals purchase skins? Will any of the “star skins” from CS:GO appear on this list? Continue reading to learn more!

The Enumeration
One of the most well-known skin trading websites in the globe, CS.Money, provided us with trade and sales statistics for this list. Everything you see here is based on their data, which should provide us an intriguing and representative peek into the world of CS:GO skins.

We also have some introductory articles for you in case you’re unfamiliar with Counter-Strike skins.

1. AK-47 Redline (Field Tested)

For quite some time, the AK Redline has been at the top of our listings of “most popular,” and we think it makes perfect sense. Since the majority of the truly elite and legendary CS:GO skins are currently valued at exorbitant costs, the Redline is a well-known original skin that can be purchased in field-tested condition for less than $40. Of course, that’s still a lot of money, but when you compare it to some other popular skins that came out at the same time, it really is a deal.

Additionally, it’s a really cool skin for crafting. The best “blank slate” is still the AK Slate (after all, what’s in a name?). AK skin in the game, but because of the Redline’s red accents, it’s a really fantastic skin to craft on using red stickers.

2. AK-47 Ice Coaled (Field Tested)

In the world of CS:GO skins, it typically takes a while for newer weaponry to gain significant traction, but the Ice Coaled is an exception to this trend.

This is a more recent AK skin, but it has risen to the top ranks quite rapidly. In our opinion, this is because it is both aesthetically pleasing and reasonably priced. With its striking blue-green fade, the skin instantly draws the eye. If you look closely, you can also see some pretty cool small features on the gun.

The Ice Coaled is a fantastic buy if you want futuristic-looking skins and don’t want to spend a fortune on something like the Asiimov (shown below). It can also serve as the host weapon for some amazing crafts. Multiple holographic stickers that, depending on the light, perfectly match the green or blue on the pistol have been combined to create some truly spectacular masterpieces. The result is a captivating weapon.

3. AK-47 Asiimov (Field Tested)

Among the most recognizable weapon skins in the whole game is without a doubt the Asiimov. The skin finish, which was once the original “top tier finish” on the M4A4 and AWP, has also been seen on the AK. The majority of skin fans clearly disagree, despite some people’s claims that it doesn’t fit the AK as well as the M4A4.

Even if it’s simply in the hands of a distant enemy, you’ll be able to identify this weapon right away due to its distinctive appearance, which combines clean, white tones with orange and black hues. The Asiimov’s tendency to show scratches easily is one of its main drawbacks, so if you want to get an AK Asiimov that is free of scratches, you should probably buy at least a Minimal Wear version. However, you can also find some really good deals just by keeping an eye on the float value of Field Tested Asiimovs.

4. AK-47 Legion of Anubis (Field Tested)

The Legion of Anubis skin for AK is amazing. While it may not be the most colorful weapon available, there are many incredible features in its design, ranging from the grip to the stock, that will wow you. It is based on Egyptian mythology.

At little over $10, the Legion of Anubis skin is among the most reasonably priced options on this list. If you’re on a tight budget and would like to own a really strong and well-designed AK skin, there’s no need to go any farther.

5. AK-47 Neon Revolution (Field Tested)

Clearly, not everyone is a fan of the Neon Revolution. This isn’t going to be for you if you’re looking for a clean, exact design, as it appears that some anarchist took a standard AK and went to town with neon green and pink paint buckets and spray cans.

However, if you consider yourself to be somewhat of an anarchist, this may be quite appealing to you. Not only does it read “anarchy” in bright green, but it also appears to have been taken straight out of a concept art book for the Suicide Squad. Undoubtedly a pretty original approach to CS:GO skins.

6. AWP Chromatic Aberration (Field Tested)

The most recent addition to the list is the AWP Chromatic Aberration. It’s absolutely not the case for all AWP skins, but if you’re a sniper player who enjoys vibrant skins that don’t go crazy, this might be a decent one to check out. It’s colorful, somewhat distinctive, and more reasonably priced.

This is a very logical option if you have a neon-themed inventory (or if you don’t have a theme and you just like cool and affordable AWP skins), and even if you don’t, it’s just a really good budget AWP. However, not everyone will like the zebra-like pattern of black that runs through the pink-purple fade.

7. Desert Eagle Printstream (Field Tested)

The Desert Eagle edition of this already-iconic skin series holds its place on the list even though Printstream skins are known for not looking good in CS2 at the moment (the iridescent effect that makes them so well-liked isn’t particularly apparent in CS2 just yet).

In fact, if you’re a lover of this skin line and you think Valve will eventually correct the pearlescent effect, now might be a fantastic time to get a Printstream—the price was almost all-time low just a few weeks ago, but it’s steadily rising again. We’re not sure if it’s because it doesn’t look all that fantastic in CS2 (yet?) or because all skins have lost value since the first CS2 announcement boom, but if you prefer these simple, minimalistic-futuristic skins, now might be the right time.

8. AWP Neo-Noir (Field Tested)

The Neo-Noir skin line is still one of our favorites in the entire game, even though we would say that it typically doesn’t look all that fantastic when wearing it in a real match.

Every Neo-Noir skin appears to tell a tale, and the line’s nostalgic, comic novel-inspired mood, along with the designs’ very high caliber of artistic mastery, elevates them to the status of virtual works of art.

The white-black-pink scope on the AWP Neo-Noir is our favorite feature. It just looks fantastic and gives the rifle a very slick and fashionable appearance when you pull it out or remove it from your sight after killing a sad person.

Even though AWP skins are arguably the most competitive field, it still manages to stick out and be unique.

9. AK-47 Frontside Misty (Field Tested)

In addition to being distinctly different from the original AK skin, the Frontside Misty is reasonably priced and easily identifiable when someone is using it. Because of all those justifications, the Frontside Misty continues to be one of the top 10 most favored CS:GO skins.

This could be an excellent shout if you’re looking for an eye-catching, futuristic-looking AK skin at a reasonable price. If you prefer that color scheme, it’s a wonderful alternative even if it’s undoubtedly not as iconic as something like the AK Vulcan.

10. USP-S The Traitor (Field Tested)

Even though the AK Empress fell out of the top 10 in August, The Traitor, a USP-S, now has a chance to take the top slot.

The same artist that created the AK Empress, M4A4 The Emperor, and AWP Mortis also created this tarot card-inspired gun. If you enjoy those guns, you can complete your collection with this amazing USP-S skin. A Glock skin is the only item lacking from a full “basic tarot loadout,” but perhaps that will be included in the future.

Final Thoughts: July’s Most Popular CS:GO Skins
It doesn’t appear that CS:GO skins have been significantly impacted by the launch of what is essentially an open beta for CS2. The majority of the top 10 have not changed, but two new entries—the AWP Chromatic Aberration and the USP-S The Traitor—have joined the list.

We’re interested to see if the large influx of new players that are currently discovering CS:GO and exploring their skins will have an impact on September’s top 10 rankings. Countless numbers of players are just starting to play the game. Soon, return to find out if it succeeded!
